GRACE Welding is looking for aspiring iron workers who have little experience with erecting Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings for a projects located in Clarksville, TN and Fort Campbell, KY. Applicants, please include a description of your skills related to pre-engineered buildings on your resume. In addition to this, this role will raise, place, and unite iron or steel girders, columns, and other structural members to form completed structures or structural frameworks. May erect structural steel and you will assemble prefabricated metal buildings. Prior experience installing Pre-Engineered buildings is preferred! Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assemble hoisting equipment and rigging, such as cables, pulleys, and hooks, to move heavy equipment and materials. Bolt aligned structural-steel members in position for permanent riveting, bolting, or welding into place. Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts, following blueprints and instructions from supervisors. Drive drift pins through rivet holes in order to align rivet holes in structural-steel members with corresponding holes in previously placed members. Erect metal and pre-cast concrete components for building structures. Fasten structural-steel members to hoist cables, using chains, cables, or rope. Force structural-steel members into final positions, using turnbuckles, crowbars, jacks, and hand tools. Hoist steel beams, girders, and columns into place, using cranes, or signal hoisting equipment operators to lift and position structural-steel members. Pull, push, or pry structural-steel members into approximate positions for bolting into place. Unload and position prefabricated steel units for hoisting as needed and use rope to guide them into position. Verify vertical and horizontal alignment of structural-steel members, using plumb bobs, laser equipment, transits, and/or levels. Cut, bend, and weld steel pieces, using metal shears, torches, and welding equipment. Dismantle structures and equipment as needed. Install fiberglass building insulation, metal cladding, and siding, standing seam roofing as well as insulated metal panels, windows, passage doors and Overhead doors. Fabricate metal parts such as steel frames, columns, beams, and girders, according to blueprints or instructions from supervisors.Read specifications and interpret blueprints especially pre-engineered building drawings to determine the locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required. Determine the materials required and plan the sequence of tasks. Qualifications Required Knowledge: Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction buildings or other structures. Knowledge of rigging methods and components. Skills Required: Roofing and wall panel layout and installation experience Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job. Must be able to demonstrate quality workmanship and be detail oriented Anything you do not know we can teach you!
