Brass seat .Each side of the seat has wide decorative "handles" which depict facing winged lions, a.k.a. griffins. The design is in the
style of Oscar Bach. Savonarola chairs have a frame or base which looks like an "X" when viewed from the front or the side and were first popularized in medieval Italy. Art deco era, Egyptian
Revival cast iron stool, or vanity bench having x-stretchers with rosettes, and the curule seat terminating in reticulated panels with opposing winged lions, or griffins.
Circa 1925 - 1930.Measures approximately, seat height (at lowest point) 14", Seat dimensions (not including lion panels) 14.3 long" x 13.3" deep. Seat length across curve, 24".
Approximate tallest height 19.2". Good, solid condition with wear to gold surface appropriate for age
